Lo Yoga si trasforma, si trasforma anche la parola Yoga, si trasforma soprattutto il contesto sociale, culturale, economico, che porge allo Yoga spazi e menti e corpi e mezzi in cui manifestarsi e prendere forma, differenziarsi, mutare, moltiplicare la sua immagine. Ci sono gli yoga, ci sono le pratiche yoga, c’e’ poi l’immaginario intorno allo yoga.
Di quest’ultimo c’e’ chi ne gode, chi ne soffre, chi approva, chi disapprova, chi scarta, chi include, chi si indigna, chi sorride e si diverte, chi studia, chi pratica, chi si fa fotografie su instagram, chi non se le fara’ mai.
Ondeggiamo osservando la diffusione estesa dello Yoga nel contemporaneo, in particolare nella western culture, a volte ritenendola eccezionale e meravigliosa, a volte scivolosa e virale.
Mi sono chiesta in quali brani musicali si nominasse la parola Yoga. Un modo anche per provare a guardare, in tal caso ad ascoltare, cosa accade allo yoga quando viene decontestualizzato dai testi e dalle pratiche, rispuntando in contesti che plasmano e riplasmano l’immaginario, come ad esempio quelli della musica contemporanea occidentale, dal pop alla trap, dal soul al rock&roll, dal rap all’elettronica, dagli anni ’60 al 2017.
Ho cercato, ascoltato, e stilato una lista assolutamente minima, che e’ anche un invito a continuare insieme. Ed ecco quindi una lista sparsa per cantare “yoga” senza pensarci troppo, e per ri-pensarlo, comunque.
